It is so easy for people to love you at your best, but what happens when they see you at your worst? This is bound to happen eventually, even if it takes years, and if it does take years, then what? One can only hope that you get the support needed, but you never know – this is when true colours are shown.
Isn’t it surprising when people’s true colours finally reveal themselves. They could turn out so much better or worse than expected. Unfortunately it is normally worse.
We are put on this earth to live, but what does that mean? What is life about? You can get very philosophical when answering this question, but for me, I like to keep it simple!
We are here for a finite time, so what do we want to accomplish? If you have been reading my blog and even following it, you already know that I want to live, enjoy, experience and do good … surrounded by friends and family.
I hope to live my life and make a difference. That is, to make a difference to the world, the people in my life, and the people that I come in contact with. I want to leave the world a better place.
A year ago I said goodbye to one of my best friends. She described me as “the brother she never knew she always wanted”, I described her as “the best friend I always wanted”.
I don’t know if people can change their fundamental personality but they can definitely change their behaviour.
How often have you tried to change somebody or have them try to change you? You can spend a lifetime trying to do this but to no avail, and this can be draining on both parties.
People often talk about soulmates, but what about “soulfriends”?
While I mentioned in a previous post that I don’t believe in that single soulmate, I do believe in the principle of a soulmate, so the thought of a soulfriend is equally intriguing and also heart warming at the same time. One of the quotes above suggests that this person could be a friend, sibling or even a parent or child.
I was having lunch with a friend of mine, Victoria, who is in her mid twenties and it is amazing that during our conversations that you could never tell that there is a 15 year age difference between us. Is she mature for her age – not at all! For some reason I am always a source of entertainment for her as she can’t stop laughing at my antics! I think she laughs more than anybody else I know, which is one of her great qualities!
I told her that I have always acted younger than my age, maybe it is partly due to the fact that I actually look like I am in my late twenties, but really I am just a big kid. I like to see life the way it should seen – there to experience, enjoy, learn, grow, and most importantly have fun while living it!
