I don’t have birthdays … I level up!

2012 has been a really long and tough year for me and I can’t wait for it to be over, but I really don’t want to be another year older!

I don’t have birthdays … I level up!

I want this is a my new moto – I don’t get older, I get get better, I improve myself and grow as a person with each year!

I do believe that you are only as young as you feel, just because you get older it does not mean you have to be serious all the time and forget how to have fun. Sure, you have more responsibility, a mortgage, kids etc – but lose the stereotype, life is just too short not to enjoy every moment. You are never to old to try new things and never have be ashamed of wanting to experience what life has to offer, no matter what it is you want to try!

I recently met with some headhunters and they said to me “Are you sure you used to be an accountant? You don’t fit the profile”. They meant it in such a positive way because I have so many diverse and creative interests like acting. At one point I even had one of them laughing so hard. During the meeting I became so passionate about media and technology it was evident that I could relate to a generation younger and had many of the behaviors and attributes. In my mind I feel like I am late 20s early 30s, and I feel like I should embrace it, and I will, I am!

I love music, and will sing and dance through to next year and beyond, and have in fact have just started taking some singing lessons (… watching Glee as I write this!).

  1. I love this idea! I’ve always felt trapped by people who seem to believe that age should be the deciding factor in anything. Age is a number and nothing more, I have best friends that are nearly 20 years my senior and I wouldn’t trade them in for anything.

    • Thanks, I have made friends with people who I have hired and are 15 years younger than me. If you have things in common and enjoy each other’s company, age does not matter!
